1) Descriptif du P43
On commence d'abord par les différences P43/P45

Le constructeur ASRock ne devrait pas proposer de cartes-mères à base de chipset Intel P45 mais uniquement des modèles Intel P43. Les autres constructeurs se contentent pour l'instant découler leurs stocks de cartes-mères Intel P35 avant de mettre sur le marché les modèles P43 qui sont dans la même tranche tarifaire.
Les différences entre le P43 et le P45 sont maigres. Le premier se limite à la gestion de la DDR3-1066 alors que le second accepte la DDR3-1333. Enfin, le P43 ne prend en charge qu'un seul port PCI Express 2.0 16x alors que le P45 peut accueillir deux cartes PCI Express 2.0 16x câblées en 8x. Ces deux chipsets sont gravés en 65nm, gère le FSB 1 333 Mhz et les derniers processeurs Intel gravés en 45 nm.

En résumé, pour des personnes n'ayant pas utilité du Crossfire et de la DDR3 haute fréquence, ce chipset semble un bon choix
Reste à savoir si ça vaut le coup par rapport à un P35 mais seul l'avenir nous le dira.

X48, P45, P43, So which chipset is the most suitable for you ? It really depends on what you are looking for at what price point.
From the benchmarks, we have seen that P43 doesn't differ too much from the Intel X48 board. In fact, we would presume it to perform similar good compared to the P45 as they're generally the same 4 series chipsets. If we have paired it up with DDR3, it might not be as good as the X48TurboTwins-WiFi, that is because this board only supports up to DDR3-1333 and not DDR3-1600 (unless you o/c the ram).
Features wise, this board has almost you can think of it includes as Gigabit LAN 10/100/1000 Mb/s, 2 x IEEE1394 ports (one port on back panel, one header on board). In terms of expansion, it has 6x SATAII 3.0 Gb/s connectors, support RAID (RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, JBOD and RAID 5) and NCQ functions. Plug in the WIFI card and you can transform the system into a Access Point or use it plainly for accessing wireless networks.
In terms of overclocking, the BIOS comes pretty complete with large range of FSB and voltage options available. You can see the BIOS options here. To avoid overclocking CPU with a high RAM clk due to the CPU:MEM ratio, you can choose the FSB strap by setting the jumpers on board (see manua). In our o/c test, we used a E6550 processor that clocks at 7x333 and o/c it by lowering the multiplier to 6x and increase the cpu clk to 400 MHz by BIOS and raised it up to 420MHz by ASRock OC Tuner. In conclusion, ASRock did not fail to produce a product that appeals to most users. This is the board of choice if you do not intend to use CrossFire on it. Even if you require, you might consider the upcoming 4870X2, that should give you double the performance of the 4870.

Ok so I found out the overclocking problem I was having with this board. There is a FSB jumper that should be set to the maximum (1600 FSB) and then there is really no limit to this board! Overclocked straight to 420 FSB no worries ... didn't need to tweak anything. And I feel it could easily go much higher but my RAM max is only around 430 (so 860mhz) when overclocked, so I can't go any higher at the moment until I get better RAM and/or a high multi cpu. Highly recommend this board for anyone wanting a big overclock, lots of features for not much money!
