How can I be sure Messenger Plus! is safe to use?
I won't lie to you, you can never be sure that a software is safe to use. The first thing to remember is: in case of doubt, don't download anything. Of course, as I am the developer of Messenger Plus! I'll tell you that my software is totally safe. However, you'll notice that I've created a whole section about this subject in my FAQ page, all this because I consider security to be a very important concern for everyone. Nowadays, on the internet, you can never be sure of anything. This section will give you arguments to trust Messenger Plus!, then, it's up to you to choose. There is currently no official certificate to guarantee that a program can be used in total security so this is my only way. If you don't feel like reading technical information, here is some pertinent information: Messenger Plus! exists for more than 2 years, is known by Microsoft and is used by over 4 millions users across the world. I personally think this is proof enough .
What does Messenger Plus! install on my computer?
When you install Messenger Plus!, several files are transferred to your computer. All files placed in C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2 have been developed by myself and are all specific to Messenger Plus!. The best proof that Messenger Plus! is not a spyware or another kind of virus is that no AntiVirus software and no SpyDetection tool will detect Messenger Plus! as being dangerous in any way. Viruses are listed within days after their release so, if Messenger Plus! was a virus, it would have been listed as is a long time ago. The only file not installed in the Messenger Plus! directory is DbgHelp.dll, installed in your system directory. This file comes from Microsoft (you can check this by yourself) and is used by some programs, including Messenger Plus! to do some operations in Windows. This file has existed for years and chances are that you already had it before Messenger Plus! was installed. If you have any doubt, I suggest you to do some search on deja.com with the name of the file, it will quickly show you that this is a completely safe DLL.
