nimporte kwa je suis inscrit au beta test ainsi que l'un de mes potes et on a reçu tout les deux cette lettre:
Welcome to the Warcraft(R) III: The Frozen Throne(TM) Battle.net(R) Beta
Program
You made it! Once again we are in the process of putting a new Blizzard game
through its paces in preparation for launch, and we are excited that you can
join us. We have been playing a lot of The Frozen Throne around the office
and find many of the new features and units hard to play without. Since you
need a copy of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos in order to install The Frozen
Throne Beta, we assume that you have a basic understanding of Warcraft III's
functionality. However, included in the Beta Readme (available after you
install the Beta) is a list of some of the new features that are found in
the Expansion, as well as some of the new units. You can look this list over
prior to getting into your first Beta game, or feel free to just jump on
Battle.net and start playing. The new units and functionality are all pretty
self-explanatory.
This Battle.net Beta includes all four of the game's races as well as many
of the new items, creeps, and neutral buildings. However, the Beta is
playable only through Battle.net. You can play as Humans, Orcs, Undead, or
Night Elves against other players on Battle.net. Excluded from this
Battle.net Beta are these features of the full game: single-player campaign,
multiplayer LAN games, cinematic sequences, computer opponents, the campaign
editor, and saving and loading.
The principal purpose of this Beta is to test game balance, anonymous
matchmaking, and some of the other new functionality on Battle.net. We
prefer that you help us test anonymous matchmaking in Warcraft III by
logging on when others are most likely to be playing--for example, during
the evening hours of Eastern Standard Time. Of course, we appreciate all bug
reports and suggestions about play balance, game features, and interface
ease-of-use no matter when play occurs.
We expect the Beta to run a minimum of eight weeks. Although the Beta may
run until the release of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, it may also be
stopped prior to the release of the finished game.
GETTING THE BETA
To get the Beta, go to the Beta Information Center website at
http://www.blizzard.com/war3x/beta/
Along the right-hand side of the page is a "Download The Beta HERE" link to
our download site that includes links to additional host sites. You will
need to go here to download the Beta installer. Once you have downloaded the
Beta Installer, you can install it by simply double-clicking the Install.exe
file. Please ensure you have an installed version of Warcraft III: Reign of
Chaos already on your system. Also, once you've installed the Beta, you will
not be able to play classic Warcraft III. Advanced users that are interested
in having both Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne Beta
installed simultaneously on their systems can find details on how to do this
on our Beta information Center website
http://www.blizzard.com/war3x/beta/
Please note that the full version of the game will allow you to play in both
Classic and Expansion mode after installation.
USING YOUR CD KEY
When you install the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Beta, you will be asked
to enter your CD key. This CD key number can be found at the bottom of this
email. DO NOT LOSE THIS NUMBER. If for any reason you are required to
reinstall during the Beta test, you will need to have your CD key number
available.
Your CD key grants you access to Battle.net, and only one user can be logged
on at a time with each number. Do not give your CD key number out to anyone.
Blizzard employees will not ask you for your CD key!
LOGGING ONTO BATTLE.NET
After installing and starting the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Beta,
click the "Battle.net" button. The Battle.net Login Screen will appear.
Click "Create New Account," enter a new account name and password, and then
verify that password. Now click the "OK" button. Once your new account has
been created, simply enter your account name and password, and click the
"Logon" button. You must create a new account from within the Warcraft III
Expansion Beta program to play the game. Accounts previously created in
Warcraft III or other Blizzard titles are not compatible with this Beta.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CREATING NEW ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BE NECESSARY WITH THE
RELEASE OF THE FULL PRODUCT.
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne will automatically search for the fastest
connection to Battle.net. If your version of the Warcraft III: The Frozen
Throne Beta requires patching, Battle.net will do this automatically when
your connection is established. During the course of the Beta it is possible
that there will be multiple patches. In fact, the first time you connect to
Battle.net with Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Beta, there will be a very
large patch (~60 MB) waiting for you to download. Please be patient with the
first download.
Make sure to write down your Battle.net account name and password and keep
them in a safe place. We cannot look up or change your password. If you
forget it, you will lose access to your account rankings! Do not share your
password with others. Blizzard employees will not ask you for your password!
HOW TO SEND US YOUR FEEDBACK
After installing the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Beta, you will find a
"Frozen Throne Beta Information Center" entry in the Programs-->Warcraft III
folder under your Start Menu. This is a quick link to our website, where you
can comment on Warcraft III game balance, server stability, and other issues
in the Beta forums, as well as report bugs you find while testing the game.
You may also access this web page directly at
http://www.blizzard.com/war3x/beta/
Report all bugs in as clear and complete a manner as possible. Describe, as
best you can, exactly the events that led to your discovery of the bug. If
you can re-create the bug by following an exact set of steps, please report
these steps as well. Also, attaching error.txt files that are generated when
a crash occurs, and/or including replay files that demonstrate any issues
you are reporting, can help us track down and fix problems more quickly.
