There is a huge gap (= immense fossé) between the North and the South of the England.
Indeed, 2.3 million Northerners have never visited the South. Most of them prefer travelling abroad rather than exploring their own country.
Moreover, there are cultural barriers between the two parts : 3/5 of Notherners describe Southerners as snobs and on the contrary, Southerners think that the North is a desolate landscape.
They criticize each other.
