Vampire: The Masquerade - Remdemption (Activision) Yes W2000 10/00
Received the follow messages:
1) The documentation specifically says "Windows 95 or 98" but so far, I have had no issues under Windows 2000.
2) Running Dual Celeron 366's @ 550 on BP6 with SB LIVEWARE for Windows 2000, and Matrox G400 MAX. Textures and sounds are glitchy at times, but games runs fairly well...Sound works fine without EAX enabled....
3) Activision has responded to my tech support email confirming that Vampire the Masquerade does not work in W2K and there are no plans for a patch ever.
4) Crashes on install with a memory exception.
5) Works great so far!!! PII 300, TNT2 Ultra (Xentor 32MB w/Nvidia 5.22 Drivers), SB Live
6) The game was very slow installing on W2k. After installing it in Win9x, I started in Win2000 and is running smoothly!
My configuration: P2 450 Mhz, 128 Mb Ram, Hercules GeForce (3.78 Drivers from Hercules), Soundblaster Live! (Drivers Liveware from Creative)
7) Here's how to do it, for those getting the 99% install crash:
Copy the Vampire Disc 2 to the hard drive
Replace the setup.ics file with one from a copy of Soldier of Fortune.
Install the game.
Ignore the errors that pop up.
The only side effects are that the Autorun on Vampire doesn't work, and the Autorun for Soldier of Fortune runs Vampire.
7) This game crashed everytime in the install program. So I installed it under Win98 and logged all registry and file changes. Then I copied everything to my WIN2000 partition and it works fine!
8) Refuses to install. Get the memory-exception error stated on Activision webpage.
