IMHO. Unless you are going to place an indoor camera in a sealed dome, you should use a outdoor camera.
This is because. Over time, you will be dealing with humidity, even if the camera is protected from rain.
I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of camera owners who have placed a indoor camera outside. Without a dome. Usually, within 6 months most have issues, again more so because of humidity than anything else.
When you use a dome for an indoor camera outside. You will also need to use an External IR light source. But you can place desiccant packets in the dome to avoid humidity issues.
If you were to open these cameras up. You would see that the smallest drop of water forming on the PCBs ("Printed Circuit Boards" ) inside these cameras can short camera components. By placing desiccant packets inside the dome. This resolves this. Whereas. The Outdoor cameras have rubber rings around the seals of the camera. Indoor cameras don't have these seals. This is why this is an issue.
Here is an example of a dome that can protect indoor cameras when they are placed outside. You still need to place desiccant packets in the dome as well:
