j'ai trouver sur un forum un article interessant sur le systeme COP sur l'a7v333, qui pourrait interesser ceux qui ont des problemes avec cette carte, notamment au demarrage, et qui dise avoir griller leur cpu. In the actual revision of A7V333 (NB: in Italy 1.01 at the date of the article) the C.O.P. system activates itself in every conditions like: CPU fan failure, removed heatsink, boot without heatsink.
But after shutdown, C.O.P falls in a hibernation status and doesn't work if you turn on the PC again: so without removing the reason that previously activated the C.O.P system, the CPU results damaged in a few seconds.
 
 
The managing director of ASUS Italy, Rex Lee, replied:
   
" for the ASUS COP function on the A7V333 mainboard, when system already boot up, the ASUS COP function 100% well, without any problems.
Only during the system boot up period, since the winbond chip which control the COP function, need to receive a parameter from the BIOS to activate the control function, and it will take around 1 second to receive the parameter from BIOS and activate the winbond chip.
Therefore during that 1 second, if you boot up the system without any heatsink for the first time, it is still OK, but more than 1 time, since the CPU already become hot, it might be possible to get burned.( under the assumptions that 1) it is during system boot up, 2)you do not have any heat sink or fan on CPU, 3) you boot up more than 1 time).
it is a winbond chip limitation, need 1 parameter from BIOS to activate it, ( it is not bug). now ASUS will adapt other brand control chip which will function 100% well, without any limitations, even during the boot up period "  
 
 
But tests pointed out that the unsuccessful activation of C.O.P doesn't depend on high temperatures of the CPU, since the second start up was 24 seconds later the automatic power-off.
 
It is not clear how is possible to restore the correct functioning of C.O.P. once activated, probably disconnecting the ATX supply connector (... well, I think they mean unplugging).
 
New revision of A7V333 works 100%.  
 
For rev 1.01 Asus confirmed that a bios update does not resolve the problem.
