This picture is a caricature written in 1999 by NIckolson. The scene takes place in a sho-plants. We can see several characters. On the one hand, there is a big man on the middle of the picture. This man is crying : Just Do it. He has sharped teeth and he is wearing a nike tie and nike shoes. This man is kicking a poor man on the face. On the other hand, we can see a other man on the left of the picture and two groups of people on the right. The man on the left is holding a placard, where we can reading : "we want fair work conditions".On the right we can see two groups of poors people wo are bent over their machines. We can see in the right bottom corner a nick shoe

Je dirais plutôt "an other man", "we can read", "poor people"... Des fois tu dis "on the right" et d'autres fois "in the right".

Voila bon courage

Pour simplifier, je dirai : "on the left hand side" et "on the right hand side" pour situer gauche/droite. Plus précis.

crying = pleurer. shouting = crier.

Sharped teeth est incorrect : sharp teeth me semble plus correct.

Je connais pas l'expression "nike tie and shoes", donc je me prononce pas :D

On dit "we can read" et pas "reading".

Sharped teeth est incorrect : sharp teeth me semble plus correct.

"he's wearing nike shoes and a tie of the very same brand" me semble plus... correct. le "a" me semble superflu, et un peu... moche.

On dit "we can read" et pas "reading".

Placard : jamais entendu.

This cartoon is of a sweatshop (a factory where people do piecework for extremely poor pay.  Here in France and other first world countries, we are very materialistic as well as a consumer oriented society (we love to buy all sorts of stuff as a status symbol,so we look cool).

Nickolson want that, you ask yourself a question...is it fair that we walk around showing off all our expensive clothing, cars, stereos, etc., at the expense of all these poor people who are working 20 hours a day and getting paid next to nothing?  Don't you think that makes us selfish as a society?

Look at the title...."The other side of the coin".  Do we rich countries even realize that all the nice stuff we have is at such a cost to other human beings of this world that make them for us and get very poor pay?
Nickolson’ goal is to affirm that, the big company like Nick work with poors personn for extremely poor pay and no faire work condition. The symbol of nike is the sentence Just do it, it mean to realise your dream...but for Nickolson it mean work and shut up.

The scene takes place in a shoe-plant (plant : usine est singulier).  We can see several characters (On peut l'enlever ou relier la phrase avec celle d'après. Cela donnerait : Several men are industriously working under the control of a tall fat man). On the one hand (s'utilise uniquement pour les idées), there is a big man on the middle of the picture. This man (The work supervisor) is crying (crying veut dire pleurer : shouting to its team) : "Just Do it". He has sharped teeth and he is wearing a nike tie and nike shoes. This man (He) is kicking a poor (il n'est pas pauvre!) man (holding a protest note in the face) on the face. On the other hand (side, hand ne se dit pas pour le champ visuel), we can see a other man on the left of the picture and two groups of people on the right. The man on the left is holding a placard (protest note where we can read), where we can reading : "we want fair work conditions".On the right we can see two groups of poors people wo are bent over (à éviter, cela peut être mal compris!!!)their (sewing) machines. We can see in the right bottom corner a nick shoe

question 2:
The cartoonist goal is to attract the attention of the consumer of nike products that there are two sides in buying cheap tennis shoes. The bright side is "money saving". But this saving has a cost. That's the side of the "coin" as the author says that, we, as consumer tend to forget when we buy a product. Our first goal is pay the less we can for a product in order to be able to buy more. This price pressure lead companies, such as Nike, to use really cheap labor in Country, such as Indonesia, where the working conditions are really bad. This creates, to quote the cartoon, "sweat-shops". And to try to stay on the author tone, the conclusion or motto of this cartoon would be "Just do not do it! Just Do not pay for product made in humanly bad conditions".
