----
Pour info:
The main difference between DirectX versions is which Pixel Shader version they use. Pixel Shaders are a hardware feature on a videocard that allow advanced rendering and lighting effects. Pixel Shader v1.1 was introduced with DX8.0, Pixel Shader v1.3 with DX8.1, and Pixel Shader v2.0 with DX9.0. There was an intermediate version, Pixel Shader v1.4, which was implemented between DX8.1 and DX9.0. Only the ATI Radeon 8500 and 9x00 series videocards support this version. The main difference between Pixel Shader v1.3 and Pixel Shader v1.4 is that v1.4 is significantly faster. It's important to note that Pixel Shader versions are backwards compatible. Pixel Shader v1.3 will also support both v1.1 and v1.3, and Pixel Shader v2.0 will support all previous versions, including v1.4.
