J'utilise une debian 3.0 woody
 
J'ai voulu installer un noyau 2.4-18; j'ai donc fait:
 

• make mrproper
• make xconfig   et la configuration
• make dep
• make clean  (j'ai aussi essayé sans cette étape)
• make bzImage   puis j'ai copié l'image dans /boot
• make modules
• make modules_install
• une modifiaction du fichier /etc/lilo.conf et j'ai lancé lilo

 
 
Au démarrage de la machine, j'obtiens maintenant les erreurs suivantes:

• modprobe: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20020422.log Read-only file
• modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-1

C'est en tout cas les messages que je peux lire: en effet, ces 2 messages se répètent indéfiniment à l'écran et ne me permettent pas de me logger !
Actuellement, je suis sous mon ancien noyau (2.2-20)
 
D'où vient ce problème ??
 
 
 
J'ai aussi un autre problème: je n'ai pas d'host !
Il est marqué:  machin@(none)  , je voudrais avoir machin@elshaman ! Comment faire ?

tu as du te vautrer dans la conf de ton kernel...

ton file system est en Read only alors qu'il aurait du etre remonté en read write apres une phase du boot.

J'ai essayé de tout reconfigurer, mais j'obtiens toujours la même erreur !
 
Si je post ici le fichier de config de ma compil du noyau, cela pourrait-il permettre à quelqu'un de trouver mon erreur ?

 
 
A pars une mauvaise config du kernel, l'erreur pourrait-elle venir d'ailleurs ?
 
En démarrant sur mon ancien noyau (2.2-20) j'ai aussi des petites erreurs sur l'écriture d'un log, mais ça passe quand même !

J'ai téléchargé une version du 15 avril de la woody, au cas où, mais cela n'a rien changé. Après installation d'un noyau 2.4.18 j'obtiens toujours les erreurs.
 
 
J'ai 2 disques dur:
 
 

• hda: ST320420A, 19458MB w/2048kB Cache, CHS=2480/255/63

  C'est un Seagate Baracuda, 20Go, 7200tr/min.
   Il ne contient que WindowsXP en NTFS
 

• hdb: MAXTOR 6L040J2, 38172MB w/1819kB Cache, CHS=4866/255/63

  C'est un Maxtor, 40Go, 7200tr/min
   Il contient une partition Swap et une partition ext2
 
 
 
En utilisant le noyau de base (2.2.20), je n'ai AUCUN problème.
Avec le 2.4.18, j'ai mes 2 lignes d'erreurs qui se répêtent indéfiniment.

Je me permets de poster, non pas pour faire un UP sur ce post mais parce que j'ai trouvé une solution à ce problème.
 
 
Moi aussi, en recompilant mon noyau j'avais le message d'erreur
 
"insmod: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/xxxxx.log Read-only file system"
 
Et j'ai recherché sur le forum d'OSAlternatif et suis tombé sur ce post.
La question était posée mais la solution pas donnée    
 
Je poste juste pour que ceux qui tomberont sur ce topic après une recherche puissent résoudre ce problème.
 
C'est tout simple : au moment de la recompilation du noyau, il faut sélectionner en dur plutôt qu'en module ceci :  
"Unix domain sockets" du menu "Networkings options"  
 
Après avoir recherché sur des tas de sites sur le net, la réponse ne s'y trouvait pas non plus. J'ai trouvé moi-même et en fait profiter ceux que ça intéresse.
 
À noter que si on va sur "Help", il est fortement conseillé de compiller cette option en dur plutôt qu'en module.
