1) on se deloggue de root pour lire un fichier; être en root, c'est _mal_ !!!
 
2) ben t'as qu'à suivre ce qu'il te dit, essaye

 
pour ton pb de fonts, essaye d'installer mplayer-fonts

essaye de pas utiliser esd pour jouer le son (oss ou alsa) option -ao (man mplayer)
