Voilà.....
Oki c'est en anglais... mais tout est là... :
If you get this message when trying to install Windows 2000 onto a disk connected to the Highpoint controller this is because the Highpoint drivers have not been correctly installed early on in the installation of Windows 2000. Right at the beginning of the installation process press F6 immediately when the system says "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" then press S to specify and additional adapter. Insert a floppy disk containing the latest Highpoint HPT370/372 drivers at this point and Windows should load them and reboot. If, however, this message persists even at this stage, there are several solutions open to you:
One user recommends putting both the Windows NT and Windows 2000 drivers on the floppy disk and selecting the Windows NT drivers. Once the installation of Windows 2000 is complete, then you can update to the latest Windows 2000 drivers without error.
Another user found he had to use the "Hotrod Pro" drivers supplied with the motherboard. Once the installation of Windows 2000 is complete, then you can update to the latest Windows 2000 drivers without error.
Another user found that only version 1.11.0512 and later of the Highpoint drivers solved the problem
Note also that Windows 2000 must be installed on the Primary Partition of the disk, not on a Logical Partition on an Extended Partition, unless you "allow" Windows 2000 to store it's boot-Files ("NTLDR","ntdetect.com" and so on) on the Primary Partition.
