qqn peut m'aider ?
J'avais un vieil AMD K6 166 que j'ai voulu remettre en service.
Je l'ai partionné (1 seule part.), formaté, et j'ai lancé la disquette d'amorçage de W98, ensuite, à l'invite, j'ai lancé l'install du CD et pfuit ! Écran noir!!!
Depuis, j'ai tout essayé, le scandisk n'a repéré aucun cluster défectueux, et en fait ça fait une semaine que je m'acharne à installer ce W98.
 
Que faire ?

Essayes de copier tout les fichiers dans un répertoire sur le DD et lances l'install depuis là.

je viens d'essayer, mais c'est pareil...

When you prepare a harddrive for a clean installation of Windows 98 you will need to partition and format the drive. Use FDISK to partition the drive reguardless of the size of the drive. Do not enable Large Blocks, you will be able to convert the drive after Windows 98 is installed. When partitioning the drive you need to create a DOS partition. This partition should not be great than 2 Gb. You do not need to create any other partitions. After installing Windows 98 you can convert the drive to FAT 32 using the Drive Converter (FAT32). This is found using the following sequence Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->System Tool-->Drive Converter. Before doing the conversion check the System Properties by right clicking the My Computer icon and selecting Properties. Select the Performance Tab If file system is 32-bit, you do not need to do the Conversion.  
 
Il semble qu'il faut avoir une partition en FAT16 de moins de 2Go pour l'install (bizarre...). Après tu peux la reconfigurer en FAT32.
J'ai vu aussi qu'il y avaient des Pb d'incompatibilité entres Win98/Win98SE et les K6-2 à plus de 350MHz. Peut être que ca concerne aussi le K-6 ? (fait une recherche Google)

va sur choixpc.com ya 1 patch win 98 /amd k6 a downloader.

mon DD ne fait que 4 Go, et jusqu'à présent, il y avait W98 qui fonctionnait très bien dessus.
C'est suite à un plantage, que j'ai dû formater et réinstaller W98 SE.
Or la partition de départ était en FAt32 et tout allait bien !
 
Bizarre...

En ce qui me concerne w98 n'a eu ancun prob avec mon K6-2.
C'est w95 qui avait besoin d'etre patché.
