The Ray Recursion Limit, wich doesn't often change, determines the number of times LightWave calculates the bounced rays in your scene. In the real world, this is infinite, but in LightWave, you can set a Ray Recursion Limit up to 24.
Changing this setting increases render times. A good working value is 12. However, this can be a real timesaver while using the Ray Trace Reflection option, by setting a low value of 1 or 2.
